Traditional Scottish Dry Stone Blackhouse

This is a traditional Scottish dry stone home called a Blackhouse however it's in Canada. Here are some blackhouses in Scotland. The house was built using 126 tons of stone at Eric Landman’s farm near Grand Valley, ON. Notice steps are built into the wall leading up to the chimney and the green roof.

  1. Those are steps? ;) I love stone, and the grass roof is amazing.

All in all, very very cool!

  2. Guest houses are ideal places to stay when visiting Canterbury because you can be near to the action without having to travel far to see what's going on! It's a super city to visit, is near the countryside and only 17 miles from the sea. There is so much to see that you could not possibly do it all in one day or even a weekend. Ladysmith Guesthouse
